Meal times with toddlers can be hard work. Especially when it’s getting late in the day. Maybe that last nap didn’t go to plan, and now you have an overtired little one who needs to be fed ASAP. These recipes are for when you need to be quick. They are perfect to make in bulk and make ahead. Simple to reheat. Full of whole foods, making these recipes the perfect quick and healthy toddler dinner ideas. With plenty of variety and lots of hidden veg, these meals will widen your toddlers pallet. Ensuring that they are eating a wide variety of vegetables, fish and meat. Early exposure to a wide range of food (I think) is key when feeding little ones. I love that if we make the bold move to eat out at a restaurant as a family, I know that there will be several things on the main menu my little ones will eat. I didn’t grow up on chips and chicken nuggets, and I don’t want my kids to either. I love food. I love meat, fish and veg equally. I want my children to have the same broad pallet and passion for food that I do. Of course, above all I want my toddler to eat healthy meals. Dinner time is the perfect time of day to focus on new foods and textures. We’re usually at home, with no eyes on us. If they won’t eat something, fine. There’s normally plenty on their plate they will try. Dinner time with toddlers won’t always be stress free. But when I feel less pressure, knowing there’s a stockpile of healthy toddler dinners in the freezer, dinner time often goes more smoothly. We don’t always eat as a family in the evening. The little ones simply eat too early for us. But regardless of what we might have for dinner that night, I know that my children will be well fed with a wide variety of healthy foods.
